Hi everyone,

I recently applied for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but my application was rejected during the verification process.

The issue is that I was only given the live camera/photo verification method, and I currently do not have a physical printed copy of my student documents to capture through the camera. I do have valid digital proof of enrollment such as:

Student ID
Transcript/marksheet

However, I could not find an option to upload these documents directly during verification.

I have even printed the ID and uploaded but still my application got rejected

Could someone please guide me on how I can complete verification using digital student documents or another method?

   The automated verification system is designed to detect glare, paper creases, and low-resolution details. When you print a digital document and take a photo of it, the system often flags it as a copy or manipulated image, leading to an automatic rejection.

• ​Since you only have digital copies Student ID / Transcript, you can use the following official workarounds to present them to the live camera
• ​The Second Device Method Highly Recommended
• ​Open your official university portal, digital ID, or transcript on a large, clear screen like a laptop, monitor, or tablet.
• ​Maximize the brightness and ensure the text (your name, school name, and current date/validity) is fully legible.
• ​Use your primary verification device phone or webcam to take a live photo of that screen.
• ​Ensure there is no screen glare or Moire patterns (wavy lines) in the preview before submitting.
  ​Use the GitHub Mobile App:
• Sometimes, initiating the verification process directly through the GitHub Mobile app on your smartphone handles the camera focus and ambient light calibration much better than a mobile web browser.
• ​Translate if necessary:
  If your digital transcript or ID is not in English, make sure the school name and dates are clearly visible, or open a page on your university portal that shows your enrollment status in English next to your name.

​Crucial Checklist Before Retrying:

• ​Disable VPNs: Ensure you are not using a VPN or proxy. GitHub matches your device's IP location with your school's official location.
• ​Match Profile Information: Double-check that your GitHub billing name matches the exact name on your student documents.
